Film Cans
The Dancan range of film cans is manufactured from Homopolymer Polypropylene Moplen and are available in 16 and 35mm from 400’ to 2000’. They are available in blue stabilized prime Polypropylene called Moplene. Other colors are available with minimum quantities required and prices are quoted on request. The cans are supplied with two 6 mm holes (on 16 mm Film cans) and two 8 mm holes (on 35 mm film cans) for ventilation.
An inexpensive tool to check any deterioration in any valuable original film is the Danchek acid detection strip. They provide a simple and safe method for detecting and measuring the severity of the vinegar syndrome in any film collection. The strips are simply placed inside the film can on top of the film and should be read after 24 hours depending on the temperature in the film vault. Subject to the severity of the vinegar syndrome, the strip will change color and recommended action can be read from the supplied color scale.
All film cans are manufactured in Spain and sold by FTS International Pty Ltd out of our Sydney office.
