Film Cans
The Dancan range of film cans is manufactured from Homopolymer Polypropylene and are available in 16 and 35mm from 400’ to 2000’. They are available in black non stabilized recycled Polypropylene as well as in blue stabilized prime Polypropylene. Other colors are available with minimum quantities required and prices are quoted on request. The cans can be supplied with an 11mm hole to fit the Daneye Film Base Control which indicates the release of acid fumes in acetate film.
An inexpensive tool to check any deterioration in any valuable original film is the Danchek acid detection strip. They provide a simple and safe method for detecting and measuring the severity of the vinegar syndrome in any film collection. The strips are simply placed inside the film can on top of the film and should be read after 24 hours depending on the temperature in the film vault. Subject to the severity of the vinegar syndrome, the strip will change color and recommended action can be read from the supplied color scale.
